Historic Building to Multi-Use Development

Florence

127 West Evans Street is located in downtown Florence, SC.  The former Hursey-Goldstein building was originally built in 1901 and consists of three stories, totaling 7,748 square feet. The rehabilitation plans are for retail and short-term residential rental use.

The 2,000 square feet first-floor retail space will be marketed for a restaurant, coffee shop, or brewery user. The eight short-term residential rental units will consist of studios, 1-bedroom/1-bathroom, and 2-bedrooms/1-bathroom units ranging from 382 – 578- square feet.

The Hursey-Goldstein building was first used as a dry goods and grocery store. From 1915 – 1933, the Pee Dee Printing Company occupied part of the first floor. Over the years, the second floor was home to many small professional offices – dentists, attorneys, stockbrokers, etc. Records indicate that the third floor was used as a meeting space or assembly hall.

Tax Credit Marketplace, LLC will be the tax credit investor for the project. "This project revitalizes a once-vacant property, preserving its historic charm while providing Florence with a new location to stimulate their economy," said Josh Workman, CEO, Tax Credit Marketplace.
